Visitors can reach Santorini by boat from the port of Piraeus or from the ports of other Cycladic islands, the Dodecanese and Crete especially during the summer season.
The connection through Piraeus is possible either by ferries, high speed ferries or catamarans. The travel time with a ferry does not exceed eight hours, while the fastest high-speed needs only five hours.
The frequencies depend mainly on the season. Certainly for the months of June-August the service is too often. Prices depend on the choice of the travel time and on how far in advance the booking has been made.
Tourists can also travel to Santorini with an airplane. Santorini is connected to the International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos in Athens by two flights daily.
The flight takes about 35-45 minutes. The connection to the International Airport of Macedonia in Thessaloniki is only valid during the summer months.
During the summer season the flights frequency is very high, since many charter flights are arriving from around the world. During the summer there is also a connection from Santorini to Mykonos and Crete.
