Catholic Cathedral

In an island where the Crusaders left their mark, an impressive Catholic church dedicated to St. John the Baptist could not be missing.
The Cathedral is located in the catholic district of Fira, near the cable car. It was built in 1823, restored and rebuilt completely in 1970, after the volcanic earthquake of 1956.

Outside the Cathedral stands the steeple and a special clock. Its style is baroque and it combines colors of gray, light blue and cream. Inside the Cathedral is decorated simply and inaccessible.
