The museum is located near the wine village Vothona and is the only caved (8m below the surface) in Greek territory and displays the production of wine to thousands of visitors every year. The funders were the family Koutsogiannopoulos, who until now are wine producers.
The museum presents the pruning, plowing, harvesting, the pressing through the various production stages as well as traditional tools and machinery from 1660 to 1970. Impressive and progressive are the electronic tour in nine international languages and the scenes showing the life of the winemakers as convincing as possible. The most prominent exhibit is a wine press.
Of course, at the end of a tour, the visitors are invited to taste different wine of this production.
