Episkopi Gonia

A small village with traditional architecture in the foothills of the church of Prophet Elia, southeast of the island.

The old name was Kato Gonia and in 1915 it was called Mesa Gonia. Today its name is Episkopi Gonia because of the Byzantine church of the Panagia Episkopi (Assumption).

Unfortunately, most villagers moved to Kamari after the earthquake of 1956, since the village was almost completely destroyed.
